Swiss trip

We dedicated a day last week for our apartment inspections. This time we picked up an additional apartment in Winterthur because they now have a pair of Sister Missionaries in addition to the zone leaders in that city. We needed to stay in Switzerland that evening because of the Stake Priesthood meeting. The evening meeting was wonderful. Sister B even stayed and joined us (because she had no other choice). She actually hid out in rooms trying to stay out of the way. It was wonderful feeling the power of the group of priesthood holders. We don't have much in our branch, because it is so small. We have good people there, but there are so few of us. We had some great discussions together, but the great power came with the singing of the closing hymn. They sang so beautifully and with such power, it really touched my heart.

Here are some pictures. It turned out that we had a little time to kill in the later afternoon so we (Sister B and I) found a gondola ride up a ways from Ebnat. I took some pictures there and also a video of part of our ride down.

This is the missionary apartment in Richterswil. It oversees Lake Zurich.
This is a little store in a town along the way.
At the top of the gondola ride, there is a picture-map showing where we are (I am pointing to it). We started at the bottom of he picture.
This is the gondola ride up.
This is on the mountainside on the other side of the valley. There are farm houses all the way up.

Of course, we have never seen mountains before....  Still, they are beautiful.

There was a fountain and a sundial in the area at the top of the gondola.
... and some beautiful wildflowers (note the bee on one of them.)

Now, here is the movie. To explain one of the comments you hear from me... I rode with Sister B once, a long time ago, at Lagoon on a little gondola-like run across the park. I am terrified at hanging there with my feet over the edge. In the experience way back when, I jokingly (and with fear in my voice) asked "What if it stops?" and it immediately stopped. We thought of this experience as we were up in the air on this ride. What is funny, is that right after the end of the filming of this, the gondola stopped for a moment.
The bells you hear are the cow bells. The cows all had them here.
