We had a zone training meeting in Singen this week. We also had the elders and Derick over for games Monday night. We have really enjoyed having the three elders here, but it come to an end tomorrow when Elder Kingery heads for Freiburg for his new assignment.
We see a lot of orchards like this. It is a bit blurry, but they have these trained (constrained) apple trees in huge fields, all uniformly trimmed and usually covered with plastic. These are not covered, but you see the poles where they put the covers (to keep away the hailstones).
After the zone training, Elder Wasden and Sister B are dutifully helping to wash the dishes.
After coming back to our area, we dropped the elders off in Markdorf for an appointment. As we visited another person, we saw the Zeppelin flying overhead.
When we picked up the elders, waiting at this fountain in Markdorf, they stopped to talk with a couple of men sitting on the bench there.
That evening, the view across the way to Switzerland was clearer than usual. We were hear near a member family in Oberteuringen. I took a picture and then of the elders taking pictures. In front of us is Lake Constance (Bodensee) and the Swiss alps on the other side.
(Actually the day before) We met together on Preparation day and the elders came by to eat and play games. Elder Christensen needed to work on some college documents, so he was busy over there.
And the last one is the elders riding off into the sunset on their segways. Actually, that is not elders. I was just doing something for our former Elder Hyatt. He kept saying how they should have segways to get around town. This afternoon, Sister B and I saw a couple of guys going up the street on these segways. I felt bad that I could not get my camera out fast enough to get a picture to send Elder Hyatt. Later, as we were walking home, we happened to see them again so I got this picture. iPads and Segways.... what a great idea!
How hilarious...I can see Elder Hyatt saying that :). Love that guy!
